Carmine red is extracted from the female cactus parasitic on the cactus in the body of the pigment extracted from the female cochineal dry body after the extraction of water derived from the red pigment. The main ingredient is the cochineal acid (also known as caramelic acid, is anthraquinone derivatives). Carmine is native to Central and South America, Mexico and other places.

Light red to dark purple powder, no smell; easily soluble in water in red to fuchsia color; excellent light and heat stabilization; stable within pH range 3.0~10.0.
